The Mandalorian & Grogu
As for The Mandalorian & Grogu, it is currently scheduled to be the first Star Wars film to be released theatrically since 2019’s The Rise of Skywalker. This new film will be directed by Jon Favreau and will “lead Lucasfilm’s ongoing feature film development program, which includes films directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, James Mangold and Dave Filoni.”
The Mandalorian & Grogu currently has a publication date set for May 22, 2026so we will have to wait a little longer before we can see the film.
Furthermore, the film will be a continuation of the adventures of Mango and Grogu that began in the TV series The Mandalorian. Before seeing the film it is recommended to see what happened on the small screen, perhaps also taking a look at The Book of Boba Fett, given that its story is intertwined with that of The Mandalorian and helps to connect the seasons of the latter series.
Going further but remaining on the Star Wars theme, the series The Acolyte The Follower is also coming which will tell about the Republic one hundred years before the Skywalker saga. The Mandalorian is instead positioned in the early years of the new Republic, after the conclusion of the original Star Wars trilogy.
