Le Mans speaks Italian: on the historic Bugatti track, Nicholas Spinelli scores a one-two, winning both Race 1 and Race 2 and leads a large group of Italian drivers, also monopolizing the top positions in the general classification. With the victory in both Race 1 and Race 2, the Tech 3 driver is approaching the leadership, still firmly in the hands of Mattia Casadei, author of the podium in both heats. Second in Race 1 and third in Race 2, the LCR standard-bearer leaves France as championship leader, even if his gap was reduced to 2 points from his compatriot who dominated Le Mans.
Spinelli now boasts three victories in the four races played and only the zero in Race 2 in Portimao puts him in the chase. Great performance by Kevin Zannoni in the first heat, who recovered from tenth place to take second position ahead of Mattia Casadei. The Aspar driver also managed to take advantage of the crashes of the riders in front of him, with his compatriot and championship leader completing the Italian hat-trick.
The Inno de’ Mameli again in the “electric” afternoon, with Spinelli taking center stage. The Tech 3 team driver dominates passing under the checkered flag with well over a second ahead of Casadei, second in Race 2. The championship leader fights hard with Oscar Gutierrez, who at the finish line has to settle for third position.
MotoE now flies to Barcelona, where the third round will be held. Casadei arrives as leader with 2 points over Spinelli, while the top 3 is completed by Kevin Zannoni, 30 points away from the top. So do the other Italians in the championship: Andrea Mantovani is 7th ahead of Matteo Ferrari, 8th. Kevin Manfredi, 11th, leads the large Italian group, with Massimo Roccoli and Alessio Finello on equal points and in 12th and 13th position respectively. Alessandro Zaccone is 14th and Armando Pontone is 17th.
