Over the years the app in question has been improved day after day to meet user requests, and this time the new update had a very specific goal in mind: help those who own an electric car.
Google Maps makes it easy to find charging stations for electric cars
In recent years, as you well know, Google Maps has been searching to increasingly improve support for electric vehicles, especially since these are increasingly popular vehicles. Among the various new features we find some very interesting ones that facilitate the search for charging stations.
In particular, first of all it has been optimized planning an ad hoc route taking into account the stops to recharge your car. But the most recent innovation is certainly that of the quick search filter: among the various buttons displayed under the search bar, the button dedicated to petrol stations can in fact be replaced with the one dedicated to the charging columns.
In this way searching for nearby columns becomes much simpler and more immediate. However to have such a button it is necessary apply a change in settings: set your vehicle as an “electric vehicle”, thus removing the default setting which selects petrol instead.
