As scheduled Arrowhead Games Studio today published the new War Title Helldivers 2, Polar Patriots, which therefore all players can now purchase to get their hands on new equipment. The launch on schedule was actually uncertain, so much so that the studio was thinking of postponing it, giving players the final say via a “Democratic poll”.
If you missed the latest, last night John Pilested, the CEO of the studio, published a survey on X in which he asked players whether to publish the aforementioned War Title as scheduled or whether to postpone it. A strange request, motivated by the fact that the team was afraid that the launch of a new paid pass a few days after the media storm linked to PSN accounts on PC would be in bad taste. As we know, in the end the majority of players voted for the immediate publication of the War Title, with approximately 74% voting in favour.
What Polar Patriots includes
Polar Patriots, like every Helldivers 2 War Title, includes a series of new equipment and elements for customizing the player’s avatar, which can be redeemed with medals obtained by completing missions and community tasks. It is practically a seasonal pass, but without expiration, which can be purchased for 1,000 Super Credits, the Helldivers 2 premium currency that can be accumulated either by playing or purchasing it with real money.
Among the weapons we find the AR-61 Meat tenderizer assault rifles, equipped with bullets that penetrate light armor, and the PLAS-101 Purifier, with explosive shells that pierce even medium armor. If you prefer something lighter and more practical, the one-handed SMG 72 Pestle machine gun could be for you.
Among the new features we also find the G-13 Incendiary Grenades, the P-113 Verdict pistol and the Motivational Shock enhancement, which allows Helldivers to recover faster from slowing attacks, such as acid. We also find three new polar-themed armor, helmets, cloaks, emotes and up to 300 Super Credits to redeem.
