DOOM, you can now play it in Persona 5 Royal, using the console present in the game

DOOM it’s playable everywhere, how many times have you heard that? We are talking about the 1993 version, not the more modern one. Now you can also play it inside another video game, incidentally Person 5: Royalthanks to one mod recently published. Of course we are talking about the PC version of the game, where you can install mods.

As many of you know, in Persona 5 Royal it is possible to purchase one rear console to furnish Joker’s room. It can be found second-hand in the Yongen-Jaya store and can be used to play various games, all inspired by classic video games. Who knows what game they took inspiration from for Punch-Ouch… but let’s not beat around the bush. Playing is not an activity as an end in itself, but it earns points for social characteristics.

The mod essentially allows you to purchase and play DOOM-related games on the console. By doing so you will obtain useful items or gods statistics improvements of the character. The mod also adds game-related dialogue with Morgana. In short, it is truly complete and well made.

It is therefore right to celebrate the developer duo who created it: KingJackSkellington and Xan1242, who published it under the name of DOOMSona, downloadable from Gamebanana.

Please note that initially you will only be able to purchase the version shareware of DOOM, which includes the game’s first episode, “Knee Deep in the Dead.” However, completing it unlocks the ability to purchase the full version of several related games: Doom 1/Ultimate Doom, Doom II: Hell on Earth, FreeDOOM: Phase 1, FreeDOOM: Phase 2 and Chex® Quest. The only price you pay is having to use your own WAD files of Doom and Doom II, given that we are talking about two commercial games still on the market.

Naturally, we recommend installing the mod only for more experienced users, as it requires several steps to work (you can find them on the mod’s download page). However, for experts it will not be difficult to have all the games inside Persona 5 Royal, although we imagine that doing so is more a question of curiosity than the desire to actually play DOOM in a similar context.
