As part of the recent financial report for the close of the previous fiscal year, Nintendo has revealed new information about the sale of its games, publicizing the success that titles like Princess Peach: Showtime! and Mario vs. Donkey Kong have had.
To begin with, 31 titles were registered that reached one million units sold between April 1, 2023 and March 31, 2024. Software sales reached 199.67 million unitsa decrease of 6.7% compared to the previous fiscal year.
Of the launches we saw throughout the last fiscal year, stand out The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom with 20.61 million units, Super Mario Bros. Wonder with 13.44 million, Pikmin 4 with 3.48 million, Princess Peach: Showtime! with 1.22 million, and Mario vs. donkey kong with 1.12 million. For its part, this is the Top 10 best-selling games on the Switch:
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe with 61.97 million units.
- Animal Crossing: New Horizons with 45.36 million units.
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate with 34.22 million units.
- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild with 31.85 million units.
- Super Mario Odyssey with 27.96 million units.
- Pokémon Sword and Shield with 26.27 million units.
- Pokémon Scarlet & Violet with 24.92 million units.
- Super Mario Party with 20.66 million units.
- The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom with 20.61 million units.
- New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe with 17.45 million units.
