Ruler of Umm Al Quwain: Unifying the armed forces is the most important decision of the Union State

His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Umm Al Quwain, affirmed that the unification of the armed forces, which was characterized by wisdom and foresight of the future, is the most important decision of the Union State, as it has enhanced its achievements in building a modern state capable of protecting the gains of the nation and the citizen, and providing security and stability. And reassurance for the people of the Emirates and residents of its land, and confronting risks, which was reflected in the great development and comprehensive renaissance that the country has witnessed since its founding.

In his speech on the occasion of the 48th anniversary of the unification of the armed forces, His Highness said that the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, and his brothers the founding fathers, took their historic decision on May 6, 1976, to unify the armed forces, to build a unified army that protects the homeland’s soil. It preserves its security, stability, achievements and gains, consolidates the successes of its development path, and supports the pillars of its pioneering renaissance. His Highness pointed out that the armed forces became operational with God’s help, and then under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, and his brother His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him. And the follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the State, Deputy Prime Minister, Chief of the Presidential Office, and the efforts of its loyal sons, a model of a modern, advanced army that preserves sovereignty and independence, enhances security and stability, consolidates the values ​​of loyalty and redemption to the homeland, and protects the state of the Union.

His Highness added: “The heroes of our armed forces gave their lives in sacrifice for the homeland. They made great sacrifices and rose to their Lord as martyrs. Death did not intimidate them or dissuade them from defending the men of their homeland. They came forward with all courage to perform their national duty. Let us be proud of them and cherish the heroism they demonstrated in defense of the homeland.” . At the end of his speech, His Highness the Ruler of Umm Al Quwain extended a greeting of appreciation to the members of the armed forces, who set the most wonderful examples of loyalty, belonging and loyalty to the homeland, and keep its flag flying high in the fields of duty, “renewing the pledge of loyalty and fidelity to the homeland and to the wise leadership.”
