Nardi never stops: he wins the Naples tournament: he is 76th in the ATP ranking
Twenty days ago (March 12), the victory against Novak Djokovic in the round of 32 of the ATP 1000 in Indian Wells and now comes the triumph to Naples Tennis Cup 2024 (prize money 148,625 euros): Luca Nardi won the Challenger ATP 125 tournament on red clay, beating the Frenchman Pierre-Hugues Herbert in the final in three sets, 5-7, 7-6(3), 6-2, in over two and a half hours of play. The 20-year-old tennis player from Pesaro of Neapolitan origins won the sixth Challenger trophy in his career and flies in the ATP rankings to 76th in the ATP, climbing 20 positions (he had started the week at 96th).

“It’s a really special Easter for me, I’m very happy to have won this title. Playing in Naples is special for me: finishing this week on a high note means a lot to me. It was absolutely not an easy match: he is someone who doesn’t give much pace, he serves well, he gets to the net, he has many solutions. It’s never easy to face a player like that.” Luca Nardi explained to SuperTennis at the end of the match won against Herbert. “In the second set I started to play better, then in the tie-break two or three points went well and in the third set, come on, I was quite good. The bet of the blue tuft? I think we have to do it tonight!”.
Luca Nardi is already looking to the future: “This victory gives confidence: now I have a week to prepare for Monte-Carlo where I hope to do as well as last year (after qualifying he reached the round of 32, ed.). And then Madrid, Rome, Roland Garros: I hope everything goes well. I dedicate this trophy to my family.”
