Today, Saturday, Iraqi Interior Minister Abdul Amir Al-Shammari confirmed his country’s intention to install smart cameras in all regions, noting that a number of measures have been taken to develop traffic systems in Iraq.
In a press statement today reported by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Minister Al-Shammari praised “the efforts made by traffic police officers who work around the clock, and at various times and difficult climatic conditions.”
He called for “intensifying the field effort, showing full respect for citizens on the streets, and building a traffic culture and enforcing the law,” stressing the need to strictly hold any officer or affiliate proven in any case of extortion.
