Rome, Ndicka fell ill in Udine (match suspended), heart attack excluded
Moments of fear during Udinese-Roma when the Giallorossi defender Evan Ndicka fell ill and collapsed on the pitch in the 71st minute (match then suspended). The 24-year-old Ivorian was helped by his teammates, with Svilar immediately drawing the attention of the match director. The medical staff intervened immediately with the defibrillator (which was not used): Ndicka made it clear that he felt a pang in his chest. The Roma player was taken to hospital and his life is not in danger. The tests, say Giallorossi sources, confirmed that it was not a heart attack. The checks will not only be of a cardiological nature in order to have a complete picture of the player’s condition and the causes that caused the illness. In fact, shortly before letting himself fall, Ndicka had suffered a blow to the chest which may have contributed to his discomfort.

The entire Roma team went to the Santa Maria della Misericordia hospital in Udine where Giallorossi defender Evan N’Dicka was transferred after he fell ill on the pitch during the Udinese-Roma match which was then suspended. “Evan feels better and is in good spirits. He will remain under observation for tests in hospital” – Roma’s tweet – Come on Evan, we are all with you!”: the encouragement from the Giallorossi club was followed, within a few minutes, by messages of sympathy and support for the player from all the other clubs. Leaving the hospital in Udine, the Roma coach, Daniele De Rossi turned to the crowd of journalists and teleoperators present, smiled, reassuring everyone, exclaiming “good, good”.
