Pramac nightmare
Despite the sunny skies on Sunday in Jerez de la Frontera, the Spanish Grand Prix can be defined as 'grey' due to its Pramac, with both of its pilots ending up in the gravel. While world championship leader Jorge Martin lost control of the Ducati just when he was at the top of the standings, thus ruining his glorious plans for a possible success at home, his teammate fared no better Franco MorbidelliOn the contrary.
Nerves on edge with Miller
While the Spaniard left the track with great disappointment, there was no shortage of sparks for the Roman driver Jack Miller. The fight between the two in fact ended with the fall of Morbidelli, who has hit the KTM of the Australian, also putting an end to the latter's race. From the television images, an apparent mistake by the 29-year-old was first noticed, as was a subsequent nervous reaction from Miller, who approached his opponent with the course marshals intervening to calm things down.
Still to learn
The Red Bull driver in fact hit his rival's helmet with a headbutt, with the Race Direction not investigating the Australian's gesture beyond having assessed the one that occurred following Morbidelli's fall as a racing accident: “Once again it was really challenging to exploit the start – he explained at the end of the race – even though I lost a few positions at the start, I was fast enough to overtake the riders and made some of the fastest laps during the race, which shows how confident I was. Then during the race I crashed because I still have to learn a lot about the bike, especially in duels. I'm very happy to do the test on Monday because I will finally be able to spend more than one session on the bike and this will be very important to make an important step forward.”
