The hunt for the Crystal Stars begins
After receiving a call for help from Princess Peach, Mario sets out for Slugtown. But when he arrives, he discovers that there is no trace of the princess! So, after learning of the legend of the Crystal Stars, he sets off in search of them, hoping that they will also lead him to Peach.
Of course, the Crystal Stars are also tempting for others… And this time Bowser won't be the only one to put a spoke in Mario's wheels! Will our hero be able to find these ancient treasures, to open the Millennial Portal and perhaps even… save the world?
A paper world full of surprises
To find the Crystal Stars you will have to explore far and wide, going beyond the walls of Lazy City! All kinds of discoveries and situations await you: a gigantic dragon that lurks in a frightening castle, a cursed village shrouded in eternal twilight, daring investigations into a moving train and more!
When it comes to exploration, Mario's ability to turn into paper will come in very handy! Take the shape of a small airplane or the thickness of a sheet of paper to overcome obstacles by flying or sneaking through tight spaces. And there are even more skills to find!
A team of comrades
Throughout your journey you will come across a diverse group of characters who will be happy to join you. In addition to helping you track down Crystal Stars, these allies will add a touch of color to your adventure!
Each of them has its own unique abilities. For example, Goombella can reveal information about enemies or locations, Koopaldo can grab objects out of reach, and Madame Spiru blows away obstacles to reveal hidden paths and more. You can also use these skills in battle to give yourself an advantage over your enemies.
The theater of battle
Have you spotted any enemies? Face them in turn-based combat, in front of a very hot audience! You have all kinds of attacks at your disposal to dispatch your opponents, including moves that you gain by equipping special tiles and strikes that channel the power of Crystal Stars.
Press buttons at the right time to improve the power of your attacks or reduce the damage you take. The better your performances, the more the audience will cheer for you!
