Portofino is the richest city in Italy according to the ranking of average incomes declared to the tax authorities. The Ligurian municipality replaces the Tuscan Lajatico and the Lombard Basiglio.
In the top ten there are all cities in Northern Italy, with the exception of Forte dei Marmi, while among the regional capitals Milan wins, followed by Bologna and Rome. The highest incomes are recorded in Lombardy, while the lowest in Calabria.
