The Pioneros de Los Mochis suffered their third defeat by falling to the Rayos de Hermosillo in the first game of the fourth series of the second round of the Chevron-Cibacopa 2024 League. The Sonorans won with a tight score of 87-85 in the duel held on Tuesday night at the Arena Sonora. The Mochitenses tried to react at the end, but fell short.
The owners of the court started the match better connected, which allowed them to win the first quarter with a partial score of 26-17.

Those led by Derrick Alston responded in the second periodwhich they would take with a score of 19-15, which allowed them to close the gap, but did not prevent the Rayos from going into the break of the first half with a 5-point lead.
After the halftime break, both teams came out with everything in search of the basket and although the third quarter was to a certain extent even, it finally went to the hosts 22-19, increasing the difference in their favor.
As in the first half, the Mochitenses tried to react at the end and had their best period in the fourthwhich they would take 30-24, but it was not enough to turn the score around, which although it was extremely close, ended in favor of the home team.
Tyrrel Joseph Alexis Tate led the winners' offense with 30 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assistsfollowed by Jamari Antione Wheeler with 16 points, 1 rebound and 8 assists, Jahlil Cornelius Tripp with 15 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists and Terrence Drisdom with 14 points and 3 rebounds.
For the Pioneers, Jordan Michael Allen led the attack with 23 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assistsfollowed by Raphiael Rashad Putney with 21 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists, Nigel Hawkins with 15 points, 2 rebounds and 5 assists and Qiydar Akil Davis with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists.
