San Luis Potosí: Civil Protection warns about weeks of intense heat and issues recommendations

Although temperatures dropped over the weekend and heavy rains were even recorded in several regions of the state, mainly in the metropolitan area of ​​San Luis Potosí, it was reported that the following weeks will be hot.

Given this forecast, Civil protection has broadcast a series dand recommendations to mitigate the effects of the intense heat and protect the health and well-being of the inhabitants of the state capital and the rest of the entity.

He emphasized the importance of stay hydratedpreferably with serum or pure water, as well as wear light colored clothes and natural fibers. Furthermore, he advises avoid exposure to direct sun and refrain from physical activities outdoors.

Suggested precautions include do not stay in closed vehicles, for both people and pets, and to be alert to symptoms of heat stroke, such as red skin, headache, fast pulse, dizziness, or nausea, to seek medical attention if necessary.

In particular, it is recommended to protect girls, boys and adolescents from the sun, limiting their exposure to the outdoors and ensuring adequate ventilation in homes without allowing direct entry of solar rays.

Weather forecast for San Luis Potosi this week

According to him National Metereological Service (SMN), temperatures are expected to continue high during the week in San Luis Potosí.

There will be a gradual increase in the thermometer, with maximum temperatures that could exceed 45 degrees Celsius. The chances of rain will decrease and there will be strong gusts of wind.

The SMN warns of possible isolated rain in some areas, with winds reaching speeds of 50 to 70 km/h, and dust devils. Minimum temperatures during the early morning hours are expected to range between 0 and 5 °C in the mountains.

The hottest days will be Thursday, Friday and Saturday, when 45 °C will be reached in the state, and no rain is expected on those days.
