Companions in life, opponents in politics: Marco Zanleone and Paola Pescarolo
At the Viminale in Rome, the filing of electoral stamps (what it is and how it works) for the European elections of next 8-9 June is underway: an event that also offers surprise and curiosity, like the one concerning, for example, Marco Zanleone and Paola Pescarolo.
The two arrived at the Ministry of the Interior to deposit their symbols: Contro Sistema and Insieme Liberi. In private life, however, Marco Zanleone and Paola Pescarolo are a couple. Adversaries in politics, therefore, but united in private.
Filing of stamps at the Interior Ministry: how it works
Only a small portion of the marks deposited will end up on the ballot paper. These will be those who enjoy the exemption from collecting signatures and those who successfully manage to obtain the high number of signatures. Among these, it is not certain that everyone will be able to be in all five constituencies for the European elections.
Then there are those who deposit the mark without even trying to put it on the ballot paper: in some cases it is a certificate of existence of a political force, in others a way to prevent others from depositing the same symbol or a very similar symbol.
Another important element: the order in which the marks are deposited will not influence in any way their position on the ballot paper, which will instead be established by a draw exclusively among those who meet the requirements to run in the elections.
