For a long time fans of the iconic Rare games have been waiting for a game, Banjo-Threeiewhich had originally been announced for Nintendo GameCube more than 20 years ago, but unfortunately it never saw the light of day due to the purchase of the company at the hands of Microsoft. And although she launched Nuts and Boltsbecame a project that no longer presented the essence of the saga, even when it is an interesting video game that should not have had that name.
While the dream comes true, fans have gotten to work to create projects in Unreal Engine to give us a look at what it would have looked like, and in fact, there are those who released a small trailer with new settings and well-known characters from the saga, among them Mumbo Jumbo. It is worth mentioning that it is not a game as is, but it still looks as if it could run on current consoles.
Here you can see it:
It is worth mentioning that for some months it has been rumored that the third game in the series is already in production, although it is not mentioned which developer studio. Microsoft would be in charge, since Rare is busy with more projects, so the only one that would be free is Double Fine after launching Psychonauts 2. We may know something about this game if Microsoft confirms their typical summer event in which they give many announcements for fans.
Here is a description of the franchise:
Banjo-Kazooie is a platform video game series originally developed by Rare and created by Gregg Mayles. The first game in the series, also called “Banjo-Kazooie,” was released in 1998 for the Nintendo 64 console. The series is known for its humor, charismatic characters, and innovative gameplay within the platform adventure genre.
The success of the first game led to the creation of a direct sequel called “Banjo-Tooie”, released in 2000. This game significantly expanded the game world and introduced more complex mechanics, including the ability to separate Banjo and Kazooie to perform specific tasks.

Its influence extends beyond the series' own games; For example, Banjo and Kazooie were added as playable characters in the popular fighting game “Super Smash Bros. Ultimate” in 2019, indicating the characters' enduring popularity and cultural impact.
