“We talked about the dramatic humanitarian crisis in Gaza, the risk that the conflict will spread: a risk that is dramatically present. And we talked about the only possible solution which is that of 'two states and two peoples'. We need to find a way to define a stable condition of peace.” These are the words of the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, in Sofia at the end of a conversation with the Bulgarian President Rumen Radev.
Then on migrants he added that, “the new European agreement on asylum and immigration goes beyond Dublin and opens the door to greater collaboration between European countries” to deal with “a growing phenomenon that can be governed in an orderly manner and not in a disorderly manner as happens today.”
“The choices that the EU will have to make to be more cohesive are important choices to be increasingly protagonist. In the next Council of the European Union we will talk about Europe's competitiveness, an element that will allow greater opportunities for the future of our young people”, said the President of the Republic.
