Vicenza she is shocked. The disappearance of Massimino Gattini, a 64-year-old man resident in Brogliano, a municipality of around 4,000 souls in the Veneto province, has left everyone dismayed.
In the next few hours we will try to obtain accurate answers on how it happened. Since a series of elements still appear to lack a clear explanation, the Vicenza Prosecutor's Office has launched an in-depth investigation.
A former retired worker, Gattini died last Tuesday at the San Bortolo hospital in the citywhere they had hospitalized him following an illness reported at his home.

The series of events began on March 26, when Gattini fell ill and he fell, causing a fracture in his right foot. Once he was transferred to the Valdagno hospital and received the diagnosis of a fracture, the doctors at the facility ordered his discharge, with the instruction to return the following day, so as to undergo an orthopedic examination.
What seemed like a routine thing took a sharp turn when Gattini's wife found him unconscious in bed the following morning. Alarmed, the lady immediately contacted 118 so that the operators could reach her. At this point, the medical staff transported the man to the hospital in Vicenza, where they performed surgery for a cerebral hemorrhage. Although the medical staff tried in every way to save the situation, unfortunately they had no escape.
Due to the gravity of the circumstances and bearing in mind that Gattini was an organ donor, the authorities took the decision to open a file, in order to establish the actual development of the facts, down to the smallest details. The autopsy could already provide the first important answers regarding the reason for death and the care received by the sixty-four-year-old during his hospitalization.
