Independiente Medellín requests 'referee oversight' for the crucial match against Patriotas

The Colombian League does not escape controversy and now it has to do with the claim made by the Independent Medellin to the Arbitration Commission of the Colombian Football Federation, so that there are arbitration guarantees, this just before the match that will take place this Thursday against Patriotas.

El Poderoso is in 11th place with 22 points and depends on winning the three remaining games and waiting for a setback by those at the top of the table to advance to the home runs, although it has a problem which is the goal difference of – 11, the worst of all aspiring to advance.

And in the midst of that pressure, in the last few hours the version spread that Medellín threatened not to show up for tomorrow's game, on date 17 of the championship, in protest against the appointment of referee Nicolás Gallo. Journalist Javier Hernández Bonnet, from Blu Radio and Gol Caracol, said that the team is considering not appearing for the match against Patriotas in Tunja, in rejection of Gallo's appointment.

However, this Tuesday there was a special meeting between the leadership of the Poderoso club and the president of the Federation, Ramon Jesurúnand from Dimayor, Fernando Jaramillor, in which the refereeing doubts for this match were expressed.

“Additionally, the club delegates held a meeting with the honorable Arbitration Commission of the Colombian Football Federation. Within the framework of this space, the members of the Commission explained to the club their arguments and points of view regarding the doubts received regarding correct refereeing in all Colombian soccer matchesLikewise, the Club explicitly requested a specialized oversight for the match in question, which is responsible for observing the refereeing actions, in the search of providing the necessary conditions to develop the sporting event in the best possible way,” the team reported.

Thus, it is ruled out that the team will not appear in Tunja for the match on the 17th. The club was exposed to a sanction if it persisted in not showing up.

The regulations indicate: “There will be considered that there is no force majeure if the suspension is due to the removal of one of the teams from the field without authorization from Dimayor, or to the conduct of the spectators or to the lack of guarantees for the organization of the sporting event. established in the regulatory provisions. If you do not do so, you would be exposed to a strong sanction by the Disciplinary Commission of Colombian Professional Football,” the regulations say.

The club that does not appear will lose the match 3-0, which, in the case of DIM, would definitively condemn the intention of qualifying for the home runs.

Medellín is one of the teams that is in the fight to qualify for the home runs. El Poderoso is currently outside the eight, with 22 points.
