The atmosphere before the second leg of the Champions League quarterfinals between FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) was very heavy. Fans of the local team carried out disorders that left an unusual balance.
Before the game, fans of both teams lit flares on the way to the Montjuic Olympic stadium. The local police confirmed the arrest of a PSG fan, accused of attacking a Barça fan.
As the buses that took the two teams to the stadium passed by, local fans threw 100 dollar bills with the face of Ousmane Dembélé, who played six seasons for the Blaugrana club and who moved to PSG in mid-2023 in exchange for 50, 4 million euros.
Some banners displayed around the stadium described Dembelé as “ungrateful.”
Why did they stone the FC Barcelona bus?
But the most incredible thing was the confusion that some radical fans of the local club had, who ended up throwing stones at their own team bus, thinking that it was transporting PSG.
Fortunately, the action did not leave any players injured and the game began normally.
According to the Efe agency, the Mossos d'Esquadra (local police) carried out a security operation in which they deployed nearly 350 agents to prevent disorders.
The organizers had planned the arrival of 2,600 PSG fans, of which 400 would be part of the most radical wing of the club's brava group.
