Surprisingly, today Bandai Namco announced the Nintendo Switch version Of One Piece Odyssey, the JRPG starring the ramshackle Straw Hat crew. It will be available starting from July 26, 2024. The announcement was accompanied by a trailer showing the first sequences of the conversion for Switch.
According to the first details shared by the publisher, the Nintendo Switch version of One Piece: Odyssey will include the additional scenario “Reunion of Memories”which will only be possible to tackle after having seen the credits of the main campaign, as well as the “Traveling” costume set and, exclusively for this version, the “City of Water” ones.
What is One Piece Odyssey?
One Piece Odyssey is a JRPG based on the famous work by Eiichiro Oda, published to coincide with the twenty-fifth anniversary of the series. In the game Luffy is forced to shipwreck by a violent and sudden storm, landing on a lush tropical island surrounded by a perpetually stormy sea. Separated from the rest of the crew, Luffy embarks on a new and grandiose adventure in search of his friends and a way to escape from the island.
In the game we will be able to control all the members of the Straw Hat crew and take advantage of their unique abilities not only in battle and during exploration. For example, Zoro can eliminate a door from the equation by cutting it with his sword, while Luffy can stretch out an arm to reach a distant handhold. Furthermore, during the fights the player will be able to rely on the iconic techniques of each character seen in the One Piece manga and anime.
