Singer Karina Benites He joined the artists who expressed their solidarity for the death of the Milly Doll, who lost her life after undergoing cosmetic surgery at the hands of Dr. Víctor Hugo Barriga Fond. “We deeply regret the death of Flor Sheyza, a great performer of the southern huayno, an extraordinary human being, owner of great beauty and with great projection in Peruvian music, our condolences to her family,” wrote the leader of Amaranta on her networks.

In an interview with La República, Karina Benites said that she got to know Flower Sheyza Quispe Sucapuca, real name of the deceased artist, and hopes that her death does not go unpunished. Likewise, the singer with Ayacucho roots announced that she has also received harsh criticism on social networks, but that she has learned not to let it affect her.
—How was your tour of the United States?
—Yes, we are arriving from a tour in the United States, quite tired, with a lot of work, and a lot of sacrifice in addition, but with the joy and excitement of having reached the Peruvian and Latin public that is eager to listen to the music of the Andes and Amaranta's music. We are very happy with the result, with the stages full. Although they are small and medium-sized events, that little bit that is done there has a great impact on the people who are away from Peru for so long.
—What did you miss most about Peru?
—Oh…, the food definitely. I had already gotten tired of Wendy's and other fast food brands, and a lot of soda, which they give you for free there. We also miss the weather because it was very cold, and fortunately we haven't gotten sick.
Karina Benites demands justice for Muñequita Milly
—We saw your message on networks about the loss of the Milly Doll
—I am very sorry because at some point I ran into her on some stage. She (she was) a young girl, very pretty and with a beautiful heart. Unfortunately, this happened, which is a terrible loss. She was one of the most beloved and most listened to in southern folklore, with a wonderful voice, and what is happening is terrible. It is very sad that there is so much irresponsibility on the part of those responsible for this death.
—Do you expect justice to be done?
—We definitely want justice. It's not fair that a girl so young and full of life (die). Many say “it was her decision”, “why is she going to have surgery”; However, it is the nature of women to want to feel good, being an artist, and even more so being beaten on social media because of her weight. She made that decision that anyone can make, but not because of negligence or a bad step by a so-called professional, she is going to have to lose her life.
—They have also insulted you online. What do you do when someone wants to hurt you verbally?
—At some point horrible things have been said. Suddenly not because of my physical appearance, but because of political reasons and because of the songs that are covers. Some, not all just in case. I think there is maturity and self-love involved, and the people around you as well, who in some way help you prevent those comments from penetrating your heart to such a depth that they harm you. Somehow, I have put together a small armor and that armor is smeared with a little oil that just slips.
—Do you block your haters?
—In some cases… When their hatred is visceral or it is a hatred that has no sense or foundation, you have to tell them bye. But when it's someone who has constructive or destructive criticism, you have to leave it there. Not letting him express himself is also not right. You're not going to block everyone either.
Karina Benites remains firm with cumbia
—Is Nueva Q the radio that opened the doors for you?
—Yes, the program by Edwin Sierra and Óscar del Río ('Qumbias y Risas') has opened the door for us for the first time to be able to reach an audience that did not know much about Andean music and was more focused on cumbia. This is the space they give to all artists of all genres and we must highlight how good it is and how important it is to open the door to everyone, whether they have a small, medium or large career. They have a very big heart that allows them to give a window to all the artists.
—It's the radio that now plays your song 'Vacío de amor'. Is that flirtation with cumbia going to stay?
—Of course, because when I start something, I finish it, I don't leave anything half done. In this case, there is much more cumbia and much more Andean music. We can characterize ourselves as being a varied group and I hope, with all my heart, that the public receives it well.
—Will you be part of the anniversary of 'Qumbias yrisas'?
—This April 27 we are going to be at the Dome of the Arts in a nice, small concert, dedicated to the wonderful work that they (Edwin and Óscar) have been doing and, of course, with the desire that people come and have fun, to dance and sing, because it is a different show that 'Qumbias yrisas' is presenting.
—There is also a double show coming for Mother's Day
—We invite you to these presentations for Mother's Day. On Saturday, May 11, we will be at the Scencia convention center in La Molina with guest artists. And on the 9th, at the Grand National Theater, we will have a concert only by Amaranta, because time is limited. We are waiting for you.
