Peremotka, the revelation of the Russian new wave
Peremotka, translated into Spanish means 'rewind' and, as they tell us in the interview, their name was inspired by a Russian film they saw and took the concept of “taking something good from the past and bringing it to the present.”
It was at school that Oleg (vocals), Gennad (bassist) and Nikita (guitar) discovered their taste for music by doing covers of local songs until they decided to create their own songs. The bands that inspired them were New Order, Joy Division, The Cure and Slowdive.
Their music is described as relaxing and addictive, something the three 28-year-olds agree with. Their video clips stand out for their particularity and strangeness, and through them they express their hobbies and tastes. On YouTube you can find one of the most viewed with animations of the legendary game Super Mario and another with excerpts from the film 'Before Sunrise'.

Although the boys know very few words in Spanish, they can communicate in English, so they mainly hope to convey emotions through their music. “It's very exciting (to bring our music) because we don't know how people will react there.“, they indicate about their concerts in Latin America.
“Unlike other Russian bands like Molchat Doma or Human Tetris, our music follows the Russian movement more, it is more local,” they explain when it is mentioned that other Russian bands have already played in Peru.
As for their happier songs, they compare it with songs like Let's go surfing and Money by The Drums, while their darker compositions, with the Russian band Kinó.
Finally, the next thing coming up for Peremotka is the release of an EP that will be made up of three or four songs, and later in the fall he will release a full album. Meanwhile, you can enjoy and dance to their songs this April 18 by purchasing your tickets through the Joinnus platform.
