Filming the expected movie Of Minecraft produced by Warner Bros. have come to a conclusion, in view of the debut in cinemas set for next year.
The confirmation comes directly from Jason Momoa, who plays the protagonist of the film, who published a post on Instagram announcing the end of filming, which also includes a photo framing part of the cast, including Jack Black, and images from the set. In the message, the actor of Aquaman and Game of Thrones also talks about this experience in enthusiastic tones.
“An incredible cinematic experience, truly one of the greatest moments of my life,” the actor said. “Too many laughs. I love this country. New Zealand, Aotearoa (New Zealand in Māori ed.) you are magical. Thank you for allowing me to film here.”
It's practically a year away from its debut in cinemas
As mentioned at the beginning, although filming has come to an end, it will be necessary to wait practically a year before being able to see the Minecraft film in cinemas. The debut of the film is in fact set for April 5, 2024 in the United States.
The film is directed by Jared Hess (Napoleon Dynamite, Nacho Libre) with support from Dune producers Mary Parent and Roy Lee, in addition to Mojang's Lydia Winters and Vu Bui. In addition to Jason Momoa and Jack Black, the cast also includes Emma Myers (Wednesday), Danielle Brooks (Orange is the New Black) and Sebastain Eugene Hansen (Lisey's Story).
The synopsis revealed in 2019 states that the plot centers on “a teenager” who, together with a group of improvised adventurers, tries to save the Underworld, after the evil Enderdragon, who has escaped from the End, threatens to destroy everything encounters on his way. However, given all the years that have passed, between postponements and various unexpected events, and the hiring of Momoa as the protagonist, we assume that some details have changed in the meantime. We will certainly know more in the coming months.
