Dovizioso underwent collarbone surgery, sends a message to Petrucci

Andrea Dovizioso and Danilo Petrucci share the same suffering at the moment, both united by shoulder pain caused by a fall while training on the cross bike. The man from Forlì got into an accident a few days ago while he was at the Terranuova Bracciolini track, suffering a head injury and a fractured right collarbone.

The CT scan carried out at the Careggi hospital in Florence, where he was transported immediately after the accident, was negative and a sigh of relief was breathed, however the former MotoGP rider underwent surgery to resolve the fracture in his shoulder. For this reason he was transferred yesterday to the New Civil Hospital in Sassuolo, as Dovi himself declared.

The Forlì native updated his condition this afternoon with a post on his social channels, in which he is seen sitting on the hospital bed with a brace on his right shoulder, which was operated by inserting a plate and reconstructing a ligament. The post-operative course will be quite long, as revealed by the pilot, who however is smiling in the photo published on Instagram.

“I have been transferred to the New Civil Hospital of Sassuolo,” reads the caption of Dovizioso's post. “Yesterday the prof. Giuseppe Porcellini and his team repaired the fracture of the right clavicle with the insertion of a plate and reconstructed the acromioclavicular ligament. It was a long operation, but perfectly successful. Now @fabrifisio is waiting for me (Fabrizio Borra, physiotherapist, ed) and the @fisiologycenter for all rehabilitation. The road ahead will be tough, but, once again, I want to thank all the people who are making me feel their support. It's pure energy. I'll update you in the next few days… For now, thanks again! I'll read to you.”

There's also a message to his former colleague in MotoGP, Danilo Petrucci. The Terni native was also involved in a cross-country accident that occurred yesterday while he was training in Cingoli. The Barni rider in the Superbike World Championship suffered a fracture of his collarbone and jaw and underwent surgery. Thus, Dovizioso wanted to send a message of support to Petruxwith whom he shares this complicated moment: “Things are either done well or not done, right Petrucci?”, he writes in a joking tone.
