After it became known that 8 players had been separated from the professional squad for being under investigation, this Thursday, March 11, the club made a radical decision.
Through a statement, Unión Magdalena announced that the player Daiver Jose Vega ends his contract with the club.
“Club Unión Magdalena SA is pleased to inform journalists, media, fans and public opinion in general that today, by decision of the Board of Directors, the employment contract of the player on our team was terminated. professional: DAIVER JOSÉ VEGA MEJÍA”, says the statement.
Magdalena does not specify the reasons for the player's departure, but it is striking that he is one of those involved in the investigation.
At the time, the Blu Radio Sports Blog program revealed that the players separated from the squad were Efraín Ustariz, Cristian Bernardo Baldovino, José Mercado, Alain Guerrero, Arneth David González, Daiver Vega, Juan Carlos del Río and Serrano.
Unión Magdalena participates in the Colombian promotion tournament and is currently in 10th place with 13 points.
