For some years now there has been a lot of talk about the term “Otaku“, which is originally from Japan and which some understand as being the definition of people passionate about the world of cosplay, anime and manga, which means that hundreds of communities have been formed in all regions. However, this meaning is totally different from the land where it comes from, and the inhabitants have been bothered by wanting to make modifications to the popular slang created there.
In the land of the rising sun, an interesting initiative has been taken, which aims to explore the different terms of linguistics, and the word that was used as an example was precisely that of Otaku, having a perception that is now totally changed. Well, right at this moment it is no longer a term like the ones the country used to have in the past, and with that a debate was opened about the modifications and the impact of the meaning it now has throughout the world, without being limited to borders.
In the seventh edition of the Japanese dictionary it still said this:
A person who isolates themselves in their limited, hobby-oriented world, avoiding social interaction with others.
Now in the octave he says the following:
Someone who has a deep passion for a particular hobby, accumulates knowledge and objects associated with it, and actively engages in activities and communities related to that interest.
From what was found in these new studies, many young people of these times identified the word with that meaning of anime and manga lovers, even before they picked up the dictionary to see the update, and the Japanese themselves found it in this new context. have adopted for good. After all, it was a term used to insult those who immersed themselves in their tastes, and now it has come to define a community that is growing, having a total change that many people can identify with.

Editor's note: It is positive that the change is accepted, since it is a positive movement that will surely not bother the Japanese of today, although those of previous times may not agree that customs are altered.
