Ubisoft has announced an exclusive partnership with Intel for the launch of Star Wars Outlaws which will offer optimizations for 14th generation processors and various bundles.
In parallel with the announcement of the release date of Star Wars Outlawswhich will hit shelves on August 30th, Ubisoft has announced a partnership with Intel which involves the PC version of the title. In addition to some bundles with processors and laptops equipped with hardware from the American giant, players with a 14th generation CPU will be able to enjoy some specific optimizations. Let's find out all the details.
Snowdrop Engine against the Empire
As we mentioned at the beginning, the collaboration between Ubisoft and Intel is not limited to bundles but includes optimization for the PC version of Star Wars Outlaws, in particular for the 14th Generation Intel CPU and for it Snowdrop Engine.
Intel has in fact worked with the developers of Massive Entertainment to guarantee an optimal gaming experience on the processors Raptor Lake-S and Raptor Lake-HX series: “This is a great partnership for Intel, combining the power and performance of our latest generation 14th Gen Intel Core processors with the gaming excellence that Massive Entertainment is renowned for. Star Wars remains one of the most iconic cultural touchstones for PC gamers around the world, combined with the best-in-class gaming performance and robust platform features of our latest Intel Core HX mobile processors and S-Series desktop processors , we look forward to delivering the best experience possible with Star Wars Outlaws, an experience powered by Intel“said Roger Chandler, vice president of Intel.
Intel lent its support to the Massive team, both from a software and hardware point of view: optimizations improve scheduling and workloads on Intel CPUsaiming to unleash the full potential of 14th generation chips.
What are the benefits?
Intel's current architecture includes two types of cores: P-Cores for performance and E-Cores for efficiency. Each core brings different benefits, as long as workloads are distributed appropriately. In addition to the general optimizations and those specific to Snowdrop Engine, Intel has worked to improve the use of APO (Application Performance Manager) with E-Core, which currently supports around 15 games.
On the bundle front, however, Star Wars Outlaws packages are planned paired with Raptor Lake-S desktop CPUs and with a series of laptops based on Raptor Lake-HX from various manufacturers such as ASUS ROG, Alienware, Lenovo Legion, MSI and others.
In short, the wait for Star Wars Outlaws will be shorter than expected, all that remains is to polish our builds.
