The rivalry between Tesla and BYD shifts to the smartphone segment electric pick-ups. The Chinese car manufacturer is in fact preparing to respond to the much vaunted Cybertruck launched by Elon Musk's brand thanks to the debut of a new model: it will be a 100% electric pick-up, soon to debut before the end of the year.
New BYD electric pick-up
At the moment we know very little about this new model: BYD anticipated it through a short teaser video which immortalizes him under a heavy masking with optical stickers. According to the latest rumors reported by Ansa, this new vehicle will be shown as a world premiere at the upcoming Auto China, which will open in Beijing on April 25th, therefore in a couple of weeks.
Debut by the end of the year
In terms of marketing, BYD has made it known that it will be a medium-large sized pick-up truck that has been developed for global market (and in particular for markets like Thailand, where these vehicles are very popular), but which at least initially will not be sold in the United States. The price? No details have been revealed, just as we don't know anything about the specifications of the powertrain and the autonomy guaranteed by the battery.
