The nightmare of damage returns
Alex Albon's accident occurred in the first free practice session of the Australian GP, which subsequently forced Williams to make the disputed decision to provide the Anglo-Thai with his teammate's car Logan Sargeant for the race, thanks to the absence of the spare chassis. Exactly two weeks later, this time it was the American driver who made a mistake in the same session at Suzuka, with the historic Grove team once again experiencing the same problems.
Race against time
Probably until the Miami GP, Williams will not have a reserve chassis available. Contrary to what happened in Melbourne, the team would have to carry out repairs in time to allow both drivers to be able to participate in the race, but to do so Sargeant will not participate in PL2.
Frame safe, but..
Williams herself announced this a few minutes before the start. According to what was reported by Auto Motor und Sport, Sargeant will have to use old spoilers to replace those damaged in the accident at the exit of the Esses. In addition, this time from Sky Sports F1, the team will also have to intervene to repair the gearbox and front suspension. The chassis, however, did not suffer excessive damage like those in Australia.
