Since its founding in 1984 until now, the College of Engineering at the United Arab Emirates University has presented 7,333 graduates (male and female) from all disciplines in the bachelor’s program, in addition to 1,291 graduates from master’s and doctoral students until the end of the first semester 2023-2024, who hold leadership and pioneering positions in the public sectors. And private students, equipped with high-quality academic outputs, practical and scientific skills and experiences.
At the same time, the college witnessed a great demand and development in offering specializations and postgraduate programs, as the number of students registered in all engineering specializations for the academic year 2023 reached about 3,702 male and female students.
The Dean of the College of Engineering, Dr. Muhammad Al-Marzouqi, confirmed that the college set its goals through its interest in providing distinguished specializations, as it offers international academic programs that are in line with the requirements of the local market, covering five scientific departments, and offering eight engineering programs to students, granting a recognized bachelor’s degree approved by a committee. International Academic Recognition (ABET) and Academic Recognition Committee, programs include Bachelor of Science in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Communications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, and Chemical Engineering.
He added that in terms of scientific and research excellence and continuous development, the college has offered eight master’s programs and four doctoral programs under joint international supervision, making it occupy the top positions among international universities.
For his part, Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, Dr. Younis Al Balushi, indicated that the college is moving towards developing educational methods and using the latest technologies, stressing that the College of Engineering at the UAE University constitutes the first and ideal choice for students, as the number of graduates for the first semester of the academic year (2023) reached – 2024) 137 male and female students for bachelor’s degrees, 40 male and female students for master’s degrees, and 8 male and female students for doctoral degrees. It is expected that 193 male and female students will graduate by the end of the second and summer semester of the academic year 2023-2024.
He added that the College of Engineering offers sub-programs for its students in electronic mechanical engineering (or mechatronics), combustion and propulsion, and law, which allows students to integrate acquired sciences and diversify sources of knowledge in line with the vision and ambition of the state in various fields, and students can find and apply innovative solutions through projects. Graduation.
He pointed out that the number of students accepted and registered in the college is constantly increasing, and the increase in the number of graduates appears in all scientific specializations from 1984 until 2023, which indicates the comprehensiveness and high quality of the accredited specializations that meet the aspirations and needs of the diverse labor market, and anticipate future prospects for 50 years. In the future, it is keen to enroll its students in practical training programs with international companies inside and outside the country.
Assistant Dean of the College of Engineering for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Sulaiman Al-Zuhair, said: “Graduate studies programs enable students to make important contributions to society,” pointing out that between the years 2021-2023, the total number of research papers from the College of Engineering reached 1,465 papers, and the number of supported research projects reached 280. Internal research and 17 external research.
He added that the number of students enrolled in the college’s master’s programs reached 250 students, while the number of doctoral students exceeded more than 150 students.
