Continue to raise the issue of GTA 6 and its possible postponementbut the idea continues to be denied from other sources, in this case quite authoritative since it is Bloomberg: however, the chatter had a concrete effect with the drop in the value of Take Two's shares on the stock exchange.
Although there is nothing official and the issue is linked to simple rumors, the importance of the game has made these rumors circulate in a crazy way, to the point of leading to a collapse of the 5.2% of the value of Take Two's shares, which furthermore demonstrates how the topic of video games is still treated rather lightly by the sector in question.
In truth, Bloomberg's Jason Schreier also explains in a new in-depth article, there is no evidence to say that GTA 6 has been postponed to 2026, because there is simply still too much time left to say and the work is proceeding at full speed.
The work is progressing at pace and there is still a lot of time left
With still 21 months to go before the end of 2025, it really is too soon to be able to exclude that GTA 6 could make it next year, and it is still too wide a window of time to be able to clearly define a postponement, although the possibility of this happening obviously exists, as always with regards to the development of video games.
The rumor started in particular from Kotaku, a site that reported how GTA 6 was moving from the release scheduled for “early 2025” to 2026: at the beginning of the week, following the publication of this rumor, Take-Two's shares have dropped and the issue has pushed the source to review its positions, lightening them on a vague “possibility of delay”.
In fact, according to Bloomberg it isn't there yet no signal which may indicate the fact that the development of GTA 6 is late, therefore it is impossible at the moment to establish whether its release will be postponed, also because in fact it has never been precisely announced.
In the meantime, Rockstar Games has asked the developers to return to working in the offices, abandoning the remote working used so far, which has already sparked considerable discontent among the staff and which could lead to further complications in the development phase.
