In recent weeks there has been a controversy between the government of USA and the video platform TikTok, as they have launched a bill that seeks to remove the application from the country unless the company chooses to sell itself to corporate giants. And after voting on whether to approve the project, everything seems to indicate that things are going the way that the North American part wants to take towards a social network that is most harmless.
The United States House of Representatives voted in favor of the supposed law. But it does not mean that the application will be banned, since it must first pass through the Senate. Of course, there is no denying that this is the first important step. If the bill is approved and signed by the president of the nation, Joe Biden, owner, ByteDanceyou will have five months to make the aforementioned sale, but if not, companies like Manzana They will be prohibited from putting the app in their store, at least in their country.
The reason why they want to ban TikTok, is due to the fact that it is owned by a Chinese company. US lawmakers have argued that the region's government could spy on citizens through the country's intelligence laws. They are concerned that the social network could end up being a threat to national security, a major cause of concern for politicians for several years, and the former president donald trump advocated for a ban from 2020.
It is worth mentioning that TikTok has widely opposed the legislation, citing that it will have a significant negative impact on the free speech rights of millions of Americans. The purchase part has caught the attention of some businessmen, including Bobby Kotickwho with his departure from Activision would continue seeking to manage big-name companies, and this social video network may be the option to continue generating millions a year.

Editor's note: Now there are a few more steps for the application to be completely banned in the United States. Fortunately, it should not affect us here because it is a different market, and I highly doubt that it is an espionage tool by China.
