Niantic officially announces that the first season of Monster Hunter Now – The Spring Intruder will begin on March 14th, which will bring with it many new features: many new monsters will be added to the popular AR mobile game, a renewed gameplay, several new customization options of your avatar and special missions never seen before. The event will begin on Thursday, March 14 at 9:00 am Japan time (1:00 am CET).
Epic Hunts will be plentiful, with more monsters appearing more often and subspecies appearing in Hunting Spots. A new series of celebration missions will give hunters new objectives to achieve once the season begins.
Below are more details on the new features coming to Monster Hunter Now:
A new weapon: Charged Blade
This weapon has two modes: it can be used as an extremely handy sword or as a devastatingly powerful axe. By accumulating energy in sword mode you can then use it in ax mode to inflict greater damage. In Ax Mode, which combines sword and shield, the Hunter can use the enhanced Elemental Whirlwind (SP) and channel the energy into a devastating attack.
New large monsters
With the new season, three new large monsters will appear: Odogaron, Tzitzi-Ya-Ku and Deviljho. Hunters will be able to unlock them by participating and completing the relevant urgent missions that will be added gradually in Season 1. These monsters will soon appear on the field for all hunters who have completed the prologue.
The Deviljho will appear via a new feature called “Invasions.”
New features:
Invasions
After the update, when hunters explore the map, they may notice a large monster in an unstable territory, while also being invaded by other monsters. Unstable territories will appear randomly in the various habitats: forest, desert and swamps.
The Deviljho will appear only during these occasions: when the hunters find themselves facing a large monster prowling a volatile territory, the Deviljho may intervene in the encounter, ambushing the hunter and replacing the monster the hunter thought to be about to hunt.
Equipment style
Niantic is introducing the “gear style” feature to Monster Hunter Now, where you will only be able to change the appearance of your gear. Unlike normal equipment, the equipment style has no functionality, so you can change the appearance of your avatar without affecting the performance of the armor. Creating your own look will be even more fun! Upgrading armor that can be crafted from materials to rank 6 will make it available as a gear style. There are also exclusive Monster Hunter Now gear styles.
New reward system: Official launch of seasons and season passes
The update will introduce the “Seasons” system. As with Pokémon GO, new monsters and missions will be introduced: by completing certain activities, such as defeating large monsters, hunters will be rewarded with level points, unlocking bonuses as the season progresses.
The season pass will have a free plan and a premium plan. By purchasing the premium plan, you will be able to redeem various rewards.
New status alteration
The update will introduce the Bleeding status: this is a new type of Hunter alteration inflicted by the Odogaron's attacks. A bleeding hunter accumulates bleeding damage whenever it attacks or evades. If he takes an attack, the amount of damage accumulated is added to the damage dealt by the attack, causing greater health loss. To stop the bleeding, the hunter must avoid making attacks and dodges for a given period of time.
New skills
With the new monsters will also come new skills and equipment, such as: Latent Strength, Quick Work and Status Sneak Attack.
Even more sets
By popular request from fans and players, the maximum number of sets will increase from five to ten – this increase was implemented ahead of the update
Monster Hunter Now Party Mission
Sixteen new missions will reward hunters with an exclusive medal and beginner weapon tickets. After completing the fourth phase of the questline and beyond, hunters will earn additional rewards such as: Zinogre Plates, Wyvern Gem Shards, and other coveted monster materials. Event missions will be available to Hunters after completing the prologue in the game's Special Missions tab. Celebration Missions will be available from March 14 at 9:00 AM to March 24 at 2:59 PM local time.
About Beginner Weapon Tickets: These tickets allow Hunters to forge Rank 3 weapons that have appeared in previous events. Additionally, the Bone Strongarm, a Rank 3 weapon of the Charge Blade type, will be available. This way, both veteran and novice hunters will be able to quickly try out the Charged Blade.
Important: The 2024 Weapon Ticket, available in previous events, has been renamed to the Beginner Weapon Ticket. All 2024 Weapon Tickets still in Hunters' possession will be renamed to Beginner Weapon Tickets.
Monsters will appear more frequently, everywhere
From March 14 at 12:00 to March 24 at 14:59 (UTC), as a continuation of Monster Hunter Now Celebration 2024 Part I, monsters in all habitats will respawn after one hour, and monsters will appear in multiple locations around the camp.
More information will soon be available on the official Monster Hunter Now website: https://monsterhunternow.com/
Good hunting!
