The recent layoffs at EA have led, as we already know, to the cancellation of a project dedicated to Star Wars but, from the ashes of this project, it seems it could be born a new chapter of a series that we know very well.
According to what was reported by the well-known insider Jeff Grubb (reshared on the site Gamingbolt) the Respawn team would get to work in order to create a new chapter in the series Titanfall but, as Grubb specifies, it will not be the expected third chapter.
“This game, as I understand it, is a game Titanfall. It's in the universe of Titanfall . But everyone I talk to keeps saying, well, it's not, don't think it is Titanfall 3, as a game with online multiplayer and a single-player campaign. I'm like, well wait, so what is this game? Still do not know.”
With high probability, if the source turned out to be truthful, we would find ourselves faced with a spin-off of the series. Taking into account the fact that the Star Wars project then abandoned by the team was basic a first-person FPSwe will hardly deviate from this structure.
We are awaiting further developments regarding this project which, according to Grubb, is still pending in an embryonic stage: we will have to wait to have official information, in short.
