Following the great success during its theatrical release last year and after returning to UCI Cinemas theaters for three days through the Anime Review currently underway together with other Anime Factory masterpieces, THE FIRST SLAM DUNK, produced by TOEI Animation and directed and written by Takehiko Inoue, is finally available on the best digital platforms.
Set in the world of high school basketball, THE FIRST SLAM DUNK features a “hybrid” animation between cutting-edge CGI and hand drawing typical of traditional 2D animation, expressly desired by Takehiko Inoue himself. The film demonstrated how the Slam Dunk brand still remains firmly in the hearts of the public. Counting on a host of fans, who over the years have made the manga one of the most read of all time with over 170 million copies sold worldwide, the feature film conquered the Japanese Box Office, grossing over 10 billion yen (over 74 million euros ).
