We are still recovering from the infamous podcast with updates on the future of Xbox, from which confirmation came of the four games arriving as multiplatform (then revealed in the following weeks), which is already time for a new presentation event from Microsoft , which is proving to be remarkably active on the communication front at the beginning of 2024, after the Xbox Developer Direct already held in January. So let's prepare for this Xbox Partner Preview on Wednesday 6 March 2024with the awareness that it is probably an event of smaller scope than the one which saw the first party games as protagonists and from which the announcement of Indiana Jones and The Ancient Circle emerged, but which could still contain some very interesting, probably also for users of other platforms.
For now, we know there will be games at the event Capcom, Nexon and Electronic Arts, including semi-indie collaborations. The games confirmed at the moment are Tales of Kenzera: Zau, an interesting action game with an exotic setting, the first work of the small Surgent Studios team which however seems to promise very well; Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, another action game from Capcom and already observed as special by anyone who loves Japanese games that incorporate classic elements of the country of origin, in terms of setting and lore; The First Berserker: Khazan, a stylish hack & slash role-playing game from Nexon. These already represent a very interesting introduction, but considering that the event should last about 30 minutes it is reasonable to also expect other innovations within it, and here obviously starts the usual game of hypotheses and expectations that we always dedicate ourselves to in these cases , and which often also results in bitter disappointments.
What could be presented in half an hour?
It is likely that several new features may concern the Game Pass, as well as the three titles already announced, and we are more inclined to think that there are more games coming from the indie sector or in any case not quite triple A of large dimensions from third party publishers rather than the more important ones, which may need stages broader such as the classic Xbox Game Showcase in June already announced, but it is difficult to be certain. Among the various possibilities, the idea that Replaced could find space within the event, one of the indie games on Game Pass that had most captured attention, only to be postponed several times, but with a release which should have stabilized for this year. Among the other probable ones there could be 33 Immortals, this too among the games expected for this year on Xbox and expected to arrive on day one on Game Pass, but also Towerborne, to stay with those that should be closest. Obviously, Hollow Knight: Silksong also remains among the hopes, even if there is probably no need to focus too much on its actual presentation.
However, the possibilities are numerous and could also include STALKER 2: Hearth of Chornobyl, we also remember that the last edition of the same event also presented Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, so practically nothing can be ruled out, as long as we are talking about games third party coming to Xbox. Considering the presence of Capcom, even an appearance of Dragon's Dogma 2 cannot be ruled out, but obviously these are only hypotheses for the moment and many others could be made. Among many, however, there is one detail to take into particular consideration: 11-bit Studios on their possible presence, perhaps with Frostpunk 2 or The Alters. Also note that the event is not expected to contain any updates on Activision Blizzard titles, as reported by Microsoft itself. The appointment is therefore set for Wednesday 6 March at 7pm Italian time, with the event also being followed live on the Multplayer.it Twitch channel.
