The story of Elvira Mangini shocked the web, the 66-year-old from Milan died on March 2 after diving in Lake Como. She was a well-known former vet and that day she had decided to dive alone, as she had always done. However, things didn't go as planned and that experience turned into a tragedy.
Elvira Mangini had gods problems during the ascent, sank to a depth of 70 metres. She was an expert diver, in fact thanks to her timely reaction, she managed to activate the balloon it's at reach the shore. Unfortunately, his condition immediately appeared serious and he soon died.
It wasn't the first time the 66-year-old woman explored the waters of Lake Como. That tragic morning of last March 2, she was alone. Having arrived at 45 meters deep, she had prepared for the ascent. Unfortunately something went wrong. The doctors' hypothesis, not yet confirmed, is that she was hit by aembolism. She reached a depth of 70 meters and despite the difficulty in going back up, alone, the woman managed to reach the shore. Rescuers arrived on site after the alarm and transported Elvira to hospital under code red.

During the journey to Manzoni in Lecco, health workers tried in vain to stabilize it. Mangini reached the health facility around 11.30 in the morning, but in the afternoon his heart stopped forever and the doctors were forced to declare the death.
The police have opened an investigation file and are trying to reconstruct the exact dynamics of what happened. It is not yet clear whether the prosecutor on duty ordered theautopsy on the woman's lifeless body. The results of the test could be fundamental in establishing the exact cause of death and confirming the hypothesis of an embolism.
