The news arrived suddenly, still not officially confirmed, of theabandonment of Electronic Arts from Marcus Lehtoalso known for being one of the creators of Halo at Bungie, and his role within the series Battlefield.
This is news of considerable importance because Lehto had assumed the role of game director within Ridgeline Gamesa team that was essentially tasked with building the next Battlefield, so the departure of the character in question could have important repercussions on the series.
There is no official announcement on the matter yet, but Lehto has reported the fact that he has left Electronic Arts on his social media profiles and online resume, which should be fairly representative of his choice to leave the company.
It was supposed to help revive Battlefield
As we had already reported in 2021, Lehto was also part of the major internal restructuring done by EA to get the Battlefield series back on track, seen as a key figure for the development of the new chapter after Battlefield 2042.
The director was leading the new Ridgeline Games team, created specifically to carry out the project on the new Battlefield, and Lehto's experience was obviously a key element of this great relaunch project, but apparently something must have gone wrong .
