The new Superman film directed by James Gunn – Superman: Legacy – finally has one date for the start of filming which, according to some sources, will be held starting from week of 26 February – 1 March 2024.
This new chapter on the superhero should arrive in theaters insummer of 2025more precisely on July 11thso it looks like it will be a real race against time for Gunn and his team to shoot and post-produce the film.
There official synopsis of the film was released by the same Warner Bros. Discovery:
«Superman: Legacy will tell the story of Superman's journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent of Smallville, Kansas. Clark is the embodiment of truth, justice and a better tomorrow and is guided by human kindness in a world that he considers kindness old-fashioned. Superman: Legacy will be written and directed by Gunn and will be the first film in Peter Safran's DC Universe reboot.”
However, Safran has previously stated that it won't be an origin story but, as you can already guess from the synopsis, on precarious balance that Clark Kent attempts to build between his human part grown on the land and its provenance and alien inheritance.
This news is only the latest of the many that have followed in recent months, especially those that revolved around the choice of cast members. The actor David Corenswet will take on the role of Superman while one of his most famous counterparts, Lex Luthorwill be played by the actor Nicholas Houltwhich has graced cinema screens in recent times with films such as The Menu And Renfield.
