Battlefield (Battle Levels)
Battle Levels are the combat fields where allies and enemy units face each other in real time. Each battle level has victory conditions that must be met in order to be completed.
- Deployment and movement of units —Allied units can be deployed from any base with a blue flag. Select an allied unit with the cursor to order it to move towards its intended destination. Valor Points can be replenished by defeating enemies and liberating cities.
- Dating— When you encounter enemy units, select “Battle” from the Battle Menu to take action.
- Swap positions— When two allied units are close together, they can swap. Swap and fight based on your allies' conditions and compatibility with enemy units.
- Waiting and First Strike— In addition to losing a battle, the defeated unit is knocked back and enters a waiting state. Engaging a waiting unit will grant the unit First Strike.
- Endurance and rest— Fighting consumes stamina. Units with 0 resistance will not be able to move. Resting allows units to go into standby and regain some stamina. Resting units are defenseless against enemy attacks and cannot use abilities.
- Sacred horn powder— Sacred Horn Powder can be used to avert a game over when the time limit expires, your command post is captured by an enemy, or your army is defeated.
- Skill Value— Valor Skills can be used during battle levels. Each class has access to different Valor Skills. Valor is consumed by deploying units, so invest it wisely.
- Traps, divine effigies, camps and siege weapons— Each battle level includes various structures that allow you to change the outcomes of the battle; divine effigies to summon cyclones, camps to heal units, and more.
Battle
Battles are played automatically, following various predetermined rules. Fighters will take turns using their Active Skills based on their Initiative. The battle will last until all combatants run out of Action Points (AP), or when one side is defeated.
- Active Skills— When a fighter's turn comes, they will use one of their Active Skills. Active Skills require AP. APs are represented by a red gem. The battle ends when both sides run out of AP.
- Passive Skills— Passive Skills consume Passive Points (PP) and activate automatically in reaction to certain conditions, such as receiving an attack. The activation conditions change based on the Passive Skill. PPs are represented by a blue gem. Passive Skills cannot activate without PP.
- Tactics and priorities— The tactics you set determine when a character will use a certain ability, and who their target will be. Tactics allow you to assign the priority of each skill and up to two conditions for its use. Without setting tactics, the characters simply attack the enemy in front of them. To fight effectively, it is important to set tactics before battle.
- Example of tactics— Alain's Noble Blade ability recovers HP if he defeats an enemy when using it. Therefore, targeting the enemy with the lowest HP will make it easier to defeat the enemy and activate the healer effect.
- Tactics and priorities— Tactics can be prioritized. The highest priority comes first. Urgent abilities, such as recovery ones or ones you want to activate first, can be set as a priority. For example, if the tactics above are given, the character will attack with Slice regardless. This means that he will never use Cura to help his allies. By prioritizing his tactics as shown above, he will use Heal if an ally is below 50% HP. Otherwise, he will attack with Slice. The trick is to give higher priority to skills with stricter activation conditions.
- Optimize— You can automate tactics and equipment with the Optimize feature. If you can't make decisions, try the Optimize feature.
