RB20, Newey admires his latest creation
Adrian Newey he appears calm and relaxed during the presentation of the RB20, his latest creation. The legendary British designer, according to those most knowledgeable on the other side of the Channel, has created another jewel, capable of making the dominant RB19 pale in comparison.
The RB20 is certainly aggressive and has not rested on the laurels of the RB19, with marked differences – for example – on the bellies compared to the competition. But will it be enough? “The RB19 was an evolution of the 2022 machine, it was a total surprise in terms of performance and dominance. In that winter we thought that Mercedes had won a race at the end of the year and that Ferrari had taken first place in certain races, so we believed that the competition was still very close“, he continued, speaking of the stratospheric car of 2023. “For our part, we focused on improving some of our weaknesses for 2022, and by mid-season it was quite clear that we had an edge over the competition“.
