French star footballer Kylian Mbappé has informed Paris Saint-Germain club management that he wants to leave after this season. Several report this renowned sports media on Thursday evening. Mbappé's contract runs until next summer, so he will most likely leave Paris on a free transfer. This would mean that PSG will not receive any transfer income from Mbappé.
The name of Real Madrid has been in the air for several transfer summers as a new club for the 25-year-old Mbappé. That rumor also circulated last year, but the attacker still opted for a longer stay in the French capital. Previously, the two other stars from the PSG vanguard – Lionel Messi and Neymar – left the club that has won title after title in recent years thanks to the Qatari millions.
Mbappé has played almost three hundred games for his club so far. He scored 243 times and assisted a teammate with a goal 105 times. In Paris, Mbappé won five French national titles, but has so far failed to win the most prestigious club football prize, the Champions League. That ambition may play a role in his wish to leave.
