Porilaista star Matti Mattsson's the pace continues to be excellent in Doha World Cup swimming.
Mattsson swam to the men's 200m breaststroke WC final with a time of 2:09.43. He was the fourth fastest swimmer in the semi-finals.
The fastest pace was held by the American Jake Foster, who swam a time of 2:08.78.
“A good, balanced swim from Mati. Maybe not quite as light-looking as the early morning swim. If Mati has room to play, then it's a great tactical bet that he didn't push himself to the limit in the semi-finals,” commented Yle's expert Ville Kallinen.
Porilainen swam the fastest time in the entire preliminaries in the morning, 2.09.15. Mattsson's record was set at the Tokyo Olympics with 2:07.13.
Mattsson has swum for medals at the Olympics, World Championships and European Championships.
The final is coming up on Friday.
