Those born in January can now receive the PIS/Pasep benefit; read the calendar

Around 1.7 million workers with a formal contract born in January can withdraw, from this Thursday (Feb 15, 2024), the value of the salary bonus from PIS (Social Integration Program) and the Pasep Training Program (Public Servant Assets) in 2024. The amount is available in the Digital Work Card application and on the Portal Gov.br.

In total, Caixa Econômica Federal will release R$1.9 billion this month. Approved at the end of last year, the release calendar follows the worker's month of birth, in the case of PIS, or the final Pasep registration number. You payments They take place from February 15th to August 15th.

This year, R$22.6 billion can be withdrawn. According to Codefat (Worker Support Fund Deliberative Council), the 2024 salary bonus will be paid to 24.67 million workers across the country.

Of this total, 21.95 million who work in the private sector will receive R$19.8 billion from PIS and 2.72 million public servants, employees of state-owned companies and the military are entitled to R$2.7 billion from Pasep.

PIS is paid by Caixa Econômica Federal; and Pasep, through BB (Banco do Brasil). As is traditionally the case, payments will be divided into 6 batches, based on the month of birth, in the case of PIS, and the final registration number, in the case of Pasep.

The withdrawal will begin on the release dates of the lots and will end on December 27, 2024. When the deadline ends, it will be necessary to wait for a special call from the Ministry of Labor and Social Security.

Who is entitled

Workers registered with PIS/Pasep for at least 5 years, and who have formally worked for at least 30 days in the base year considered for calculation, with an average monthly remuneration of up to 2 minimum wages, are entitled to the benefit.

It is also necessary that the data has been correctly reported by the employer in the Rais (Annual Social Information List).

The value of the bonus is proportional to the period in which the employee worked with a formal contract in 2022. Each month worked is equivalent to a benefit of R$117.67, with periods equal to or greater than 15 days counted as a full month. Anyone who worked for 12 months with a formal contract will receive the full minimum wage, R$1,412.

Private sector workers with a checking or savings account at Caixa will receive credit automatically at the bank, according to the month of their birth.

The other beneficiaries will receive the amounts through digital social savings, which can be used via the Caixa Tem app. If it is not possible to open the digital account, withdrawals can be made using the Citizen's Card and password at self-service terminals, lottery units, Caixa Aqui or branches, also according to the payment schedule staggered by month of birth.

Payment of the Pasep allowance occurs via credit to an account for those who have an account or have savings at Banco do Brasil. Workers who are not BB account holders can make the transfer via TED to their account via self-service terminals and the portal www.bb.com.br/pasep or at the cash counterx from agencies, upon presentation of an official identity document.

By 2020, the salary bonus of the previous year was paid from July of the current year to June of the following year. At the beginning of 2021, Codefat complied with the recommendation of the CGU (Comptroller General of the Union) and started depositing the money only 2 years after the work with a formal contract.
