Greens | The Greens participate in the Sdp's midterm question on working life measures

Sofia Virta (Vihr) rejects the export-led salary model, but estimates that the party could support, for example, increasing local bargaining.

Green goes along with Sdp's interim question about the labor market. The parliamentary group of the Greens decided on the matter on Thursday.

“We have had a long discussion among the group and have come to the conclusion that we will join the intermediate question, because we do not have confidence in the government's ability to solve this labor market knot, which is now dangerously expensive for the Finnish economy”, the chairman of the Greens Sofia Virta says in the announcement.

According to Virra, the party is disappointed with the government's way of handling labor market issues.

“It seems that the government's desire for reform is motivated more by the need to be able to show the ay stores where the closet is. This should have been handled in a way that would not have caused the situation in which the whole country now stands.”

Yet earlier on thursday the greens sent a statement saying that it will take part in the mid-term question if it doesn't just focus on opposing all the reforms.

According to Virra, the view of the Greens has now been taken into account in the intermediate question.

Message service in X Virta wrote, that the Greens are ready to support the increase of local agreements and the staggered merit-based system. Instead, the so-called export-led salary model does not work for the party.

Major the opposition party Sdp said on Wednesday that it would leave the interim question on the government's labor market policy.

Chairman Antti Lindtman accused the prime minister Petteri Orpon (kok) led government for “causing labor market chaos”.

The working life reforms planned by the government have angered the ay movement, whose political strikes have paralyzed Finland in recent weeks. The government has assured that it will not back down from the reforms.

The center told the media on Wednesday that they will not participate in the Sdp's by-election. The Left Alliance estimates that “basically, they are involved.”
