Helldivers 2 it turned out to be a huge success, probably bigger than anyone imagined. The development team absolutely wants to support its audience with new content, but what could it be? One certainty for now is that There will not be a PvP mode.
The reason? Simply, according to the CEO of Arrowhead (i.e. the Helldivers 2 development team) who also holds the role of Creative Director for the video game, PvP tends to make the experience toxic and the purpose of this shooter is to entertain players.
The discussion arose on Twitter, where a user wrote to the CEO of Arrowhead telling him that, in order to steal Call of Duty playersthey should add a PvP mode so as to attract more hardcore players and support the game during periods during which substantial updates are not released.
The Creative DirectorHowever, he replied: “We will 'never' add a PvP mode. The reason is to reduce toxic elements from the community. We want an environment that is supportive, fun and in which everyone plays on the same side.”
However, it should be emphasized that that 'never' in quotation marks suggests that things could change in the future, but we don't think we should expect anything like this in the short term.
