New Lancia Ypsilon interior, preview, what the passenger compartment is like

There new 100% electric Ypsilon was officially presented in Milan on 14 February 2024. During the long period leading up to the reveal of the car, Lance has released the first official images, revealing the body style and showing the first interior details. The latter are created in collaboration with Cassinafurniture specialist.

The interior of the new Lancia Ypsilon is also inspired by the style of the concept Pu+Ra HPE. In the cabin there is a new infotainment system called “ROOM” (Sound, Air, Light, Augmented), developed internally by the Stellantis Group with operation linked to artificial intelligence.

The collaboration between Lancia and Cassina led to the creation of a unique detail in the automotive world: the Small tablea central round shelf made with bio-based plastic and positioned under the infotainment, to recreate the atmosphere of a living room at home in the passenger compartment of the car.

The concept of “living room” is also evident in the other elements of the passenger compartment, such as i adjustable electric seatsmassaging and heated, which resemble real armchairs with a “cannelloni” texture, made of velvet in 100% recycled yarn in blue. This welcoming environment is further enhanced by the elevated acoustic comfort of the passenger compartment, which helps to maximize well-being during the journey.

Infotainment ROOM

Two digital screens dominate the dashboard, both from above 10 inches: one dedicated to the driver and the other for the infotainment system called ROOMwhich takes its nickname from the concept of “living room”.

The core of this concept is SALA, avirtual interface and intelligent that incorporates the essential elements to offer a comfortable driving experience, in line with Lancia's distinctive style. SALA, acronym for Sound Air Light Augmentationcombines the functions of audio, climate control and lighting, allowing the driver and passenger to personalize the interior environment with ease, at the touch of a button.

A “disk” integrated above the touch screen uses LED strips to communicate with the driver, providing different lighting depending on the notifications. L'voice assistant is able to receive commands and independently regulate the internal environment of the car, alerting the driver when messages arrive on the smartphone connected wirelessly via Android Auto or Apple CarPlay.

The interiors of the new Ypsilon represent a novelty both in terms of technologies and elegance, also thanks to the collaboration with Cassinathe historic Italian company that has been dealing with contemporary furniture since 1927.

The car was thus launched with theCassina Limited Edition, available in just 1,906 examples, as many as the year Lancia was founded, and will feature leather upholstery as standard equipment. This special series places emphasis above all on stylistic details, with careful selection of materials and use of blue color, iconic in the brand's tradition, both inside and outside the car. The Small table it is the symbol of this collaboration.
