WP: The US military base in Jordan was attacked by a Shahed UAV, but the military did not have the necessary air defense
A US military base in Jordan was attacked by a Shahed-type unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), but the US military was unable to shoot it down because it did not have an air defense system. About it reported The Washington Post newspaper, citing sources.
“One official described the drone used in the Jordan attack as a Shahed-101, a weapon used by militants in Iraq,” the publication noted.
It is clarified that the military probably did not notice the approach of the drone because the flight trajectory was too low; in addition, electronic warfare systems were located at the base, and not air defense systems that could shoot down the UAV.
Earlier, on January 27, a drone struck a US military base in Jordan. As a result of the incident, dozens of people were injured; three servicemen could not be saved. The Iraqi Islamic Resistance claimed responsibility for the attack.
